First Date

We had our first date last night!

OK, I guess with two kids it's obvious that we've been on at least one date before, but this was the first date we've been on since Alexis was born! It was also the first time that I've left her with anyone but Asa (shout out to Maie!).

One of the local chapters of AKA had a jazz semi-formal last night which we were invited to. It was really nice (and the food was GOOD!), but it was especially nice to just spend some time together - you know, JUST US. It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day schedules, routines, and craziness, but you really have to remember to take time for yourselves every once in a while. Keeps things in perspective - and helps to keep the relationship healthy.

But it was nice to see our children's faces light up when we came to pick them up!
